Beauty is Only Skin Deep

It is said that beauty is only skin deep though as you do not judge a book by it's cover and, of course, that the real character of the person is more than appearance.

But the harsh realities of life state that a person's appearance is the first impression of what that a person is like. It's a bit shocking to know that you are "generalized" at one glance from prospective friends, lovers and even potential employers. Indeed, it has been shown that even small babies tend to make decisions on their faces, that appears before them, they respond better to the symmetrical facial appearance.

This first impression is the subconscious level, and this is largely out of our control. It follows that the appearance of your face, can open the doors. Your good looks will give you the opportunities that would not present themselves otherwise. It is also helpful to expand our sense of clothing and what looks good on us but nothing is more powerful than a face that you present.  We just live in a superficial world.

Finding the best skin products that are suitable for your skin type can be a process. I know myself that some creams may cause mild skin eruptions, so I look for those applications that are chemical free.

A Friend

Last evening I went out with my hair stylist and her husband, another couple which the wife was a new client of my stylist, two other couples, that were celebrating the birthday of one of the young ladies. I was recently celebrated for my birthday at Maharani Cafe (a place of my choice) and it too was a very enjoyable evening with my friend Nae and her family. So of course last night since we went "clubbing" Nae chimed, "Deborah we are still celebrating your birthday too, this is the dancing part".

Out of the group, Sherile (the new client of my stylist) and her husband as well as Nae's husband are heavily into the music scene both play instruments.  So as it goes one of them is playing next Friday in the area.  I have heard not heard either of them play yet so I am excited to attend this first event.

Friends are so important in our lives, they are the elasticity, that hold us together and stretches us out; and pulls us back. Whatever we are involved in, a friend is someone that though not directly involved can give us that needed objective opinion.  We need that sometimes when in the midst of a situation, our vision becomes impaired.  And as well, we mustn't underestimate the power, of one friend; you won't have many.  A friend is there for you, and we know who they are...

Hello World,

I am Deborah, mother of two lovely daughters, and one lively granddaughter.  After 25 years of service within the state universities system, and receiving yearly notices of my earliest retirement date, upon it's arrival; I retired effective immediately.  I decided since my daughters were fairly successful in their lines of work and quietly going about their day to day, it was time for me to make my move.  Now, I wanted  to travel all over.  I did not want to go just some where I wanted to go many places. I embarked upon my second career or so I thought, as a flight attendant.  Luckily, the first company I went with hired me and  I was off. Loved this job, travelling all over, well soon an opening became available in one of our bases in Hawaii and boom, I am now living in paradise.  Well, I tell you once I came here, I no longer wanted to go anywhere else; thus my second career was cut quite short; perhaps four years in total I worked as a flight attendant and loved every minute of it.

I have met so many interesting people here in Hawaii; although I miss my friends back home and I do talk long periods of time with them; still update them and get updated by them almost just like being home.  But, back to Hawaii, I met a delightful fellow, we worked together in a non-profit organization for a while, I am still there he left though to finish school and took a bartender's class on the side.  Well this guy recently graduated with his Master's Degree in Social Work, "Yay", and can fix the best jalepeno margarita's on the island, as well as mojito's.  So, if you ever come to Waikiki, Wang Chung is a must-stop on Koa Street for not only the best mixed drinks but the karaoke, oh my can he sing!!!

Stop, and Smell the Flowers

So often we are caught up, over-extend ourselves with multiple obligations, promised our commitment to several initiatives, dedicated so many hours towards this and that. And still we continue to press on, on until we have little to nothing else we can give, we completely fill ourselves out. Basically, spreading ourselves too thin! We all are probably a little guilty of that.  We strive, we seek perfection, we want to put in 110 percent!

What and in which areas accomplishments are made we don't have time to savor them, because we are already on to something else.  Never being able to go back to relish what we've done.  Sometimes even forgetting our past accomplishments.  

Well life's accomplishments are meant to be savored.  It's called taking the time to smell the flowers, we often just look at them, their visual beauty and keep going, off to the next project.  

Starting today savor what you've done or created, inhale good job. Smell the flowers!

Counting the Days to Financial Freedom

 I see myself where I want to be, where I will be, not where I am now. I have claimed it. It is mine. How can I say this you may ask; I can tell you because of my persistence and works. Motivation is working and a good spirit that is moving about is keeping me focused...

I want to fly free. Free of the negativity, free of the, "I don't know why, just do it", free of the restraints of the desk, room, and building. I long to speak, host, and participate in different circles, bounded by nothing.

Do you want to find your passion? I would be the last person to say that it is not going to require hard work, patience, and the ability to keep getting up; because during the way we stumble, nothing wrong with that. Everyday, I sit at my desk, doing my job, as well as I can, I know I must. But, I do not lose sight of my plan, my count down, my preparation for my big "pay-back".

So with Nerium International, I work on it everyday; just like my job. I make contacts, talk to people, and friends, do lunches, parties, host. It is a source now of excitement, getting away from the mundane. Naturally it has become an income source, that is limitless. For now though, I am building my bridges through contacts, people, friends, personal associates where ever I go, it's something to talk about. Not so much for me but it allows people to talk about themselves, I listen, I make a connection with that person. I will see or talk to them again, and they will probably ask me about it then, so take your time, stay focused, work on it everyday and in the natural order of things you too will soon be counting down your days to your financial freedom!!
