Richmond and Petersburg Virginia Trip

The Poe Museum is closed on Mondays. I will go back to Virginia to look inside.  I have plenty of pictures I'd like to share with you all from my trip to Virginia! Let's go!

I really missed you guys! I have just retired for the second time.  So I'm trying really hard not to reenter the workforce and get in some travel, relaxation, and time with my family. I have two daughters, one granddaughter, and 3 great-grandsons.  My youngest daughter does not have children, and she recently relocated from Houston, Texas, to Portland, Oregon. My oldest daughter and her daughter and grandchildren live in Carbondale, IL. 

Guess what, guys, I am going to Chicago to meet up with my oldest daughter and her crew for her birthday in September! I can't wait, as we are all originally from Chicago; so it is a homecoming of sorts to all be there together. She is doing our itinerary for the trip. I know we are going to Navy Pier, Sears Tower, the Magnificent Mile, and Chinatown for starters. Garnett's Popcorn is calling my name. 

I would not be honest with you if I said I am a bit wary of this stage in my life. I wonder if I am going to be alright? Will I be able to do things independently? I have many questions at this fork in the road. But it helps me to talk about it and share it with you! 

What stage of life are you in? Are you young and just starting out? Are you raising children? Or are you like me?

Vacation Where? Vacation What?

Oh thoughts of vacation are swirling in my head.  I am trying to narrow things down. I am thinking about going to Vegas, slots and the Tropicana. I am thinking about a cruise. I am thinking about Jamaica.  I don't know where to start.  I can't get determined on anything, and it is getting late, in the year I mean.

Looking over this year, it has really been a lot of ups and downs for me.  Many things changed, some doors closed, as new ones opened.  I've had plenty of time to reflect on the past and present.  I am excited about the future and what it will bring. But again, as vacation goes, I continue to draw a blank.

Does this mean something?  Well, I have talked to friends, but it only gets more confusing. Some don't cruise, some want to cruise, no one knows where. They're all talking about next year, so I just want to take a quick trip to Vegas now and think about next year's vacation.

Actually, I want to see my daughters and their families too, although that is not really a vacation. Well, I mean close, my younger daughter, when I visited her in Texas, it actually was a vacation; she took care of everything, she was entertaining, she took me everywhere, we attended shows, movies, clubs, restaurants, even the casino.  My oldest daughter is moving from Illinois to Texas soon, so perhaps I can wait to see them both on a visit to Texas.

I plan on doing so in the near future, so I need to work at an airport with benefits.  I applied too; you all wish me luck!!
