 Well, hello, Bosses!

So much has happened of late.

I got a new temporary assignment. It is part-time for a local car dealership. I will work as a receptionist. I am so happy! This type of position is just what I need. I have worked with Robert Half International for many years, and they come through with assignments!!

I start on Monday. Did I say I was sooo happy? 

So tomorrow I go for nails and a pedicure in preparation for my new position. I will also get my locs serviced mid-week (i.e., shampoo, re-tie, and style. This will also get me ready for my daughter's birthday trip to Chicago on the 8th of September. The time is getting close. My daughter is finalizing the itinerary now. I am so excited that she and my granddaughter will experience their first professional makeup application for our group pictures by a professional photographer. 

In other news, lol! I had my annual wellness check by my primary physician and aced it!!! After that, I notified Aflac and will receive $ 60.00 for taking the annual physical! 

So I say thank you!

How Do You Handle Disappointment😔😔

 I suffered a disappointment today.

It's been going on for 2 days, so here is what happened. I received a text from a temporary agency representative to respond "interested" if I'd like to pursue a contract-to-hire position at a local car dealership. I immediately texted back "interested". I received a call from the representative with more information about the position and scheduled it for that day at 1:00 p.m. I stopped everything, got prepared, dressed, and interviewed for the position.  

The interview went great. The hiring agent asked me if I would like to accept the position. I told her I would gladly accept. I mentioned to her that I had a pre-scheduled vacation from 9/8 through 9/14th, and she replied that it should not be a problem. I was introduced to the staff I'd work with and given a work schedule. The hiring agent told me she would contact the temporary service to proceed with the hiring process. She asked me when I could start.

I was so happy. I got home, got comfortable, and carried on with my daily chores.  I did not receive a call from the temporary agency the next day. On day three, I called the temporary agency. The representative asked me if I was calling regarding the interview. I told her I was, and she said Your interview went great; they really fought for you, but because of your pre-scheduled vacation and the scheduled vacations for current staff, they could not move forward in the hiring process.

I was so sad. I was disappointed too. Let me ask you all, "How do you handle life's disappointments 😞?"

When I tell you this bottle of Cognac tastes like Hennessy, I'm not kidding.

 It's like a piece of home while being abroad. That being said, let's continue.

Today was my Zoom Meeting to see how I could connect these platforms to run a successful business, and basically I got no more information than I had going into the meeting.

I therefore am deactivating my Pinterest Account for now.

Pinterest, Being Invited to Amazon Vine, & Amazon Reviews

It's my life now ya'll. I was up all night trying to make a product list on Pinterest. My Pinners, or soon-to-be Pinners, I can help you get started.  On behalf of Pinterest, they have been with me every step of the way, and the response time is quick. Nothing worthwhile in life comes easy, I keep saying to myself, and I believe that's true. But when I think about the rewards reaped for working hard for something, it's oh so, so sweet! I know it, but can't see it now; for I am in the midst of a storm!  

This is hard; I don't know what I am doing. It would appear to be easy to copy and paste from one document to another, but no, the copied text is not in the form it needs to be in when it is pasted. You have to tweak it, and that is where the trouble lies. The Monster per se lives there!

Birthday Trip Alert Chicago Bound

My oldest daughter's birthday is in September, and she is holding a celebration in Chicago. You all know travelling Mdse Deb got to go!!

I have picked out a hairstyle for my 7-month-old micro locs.

It is a Mohawk Style. I have a bit of dark-blonde highlights, so that will add some glam!! My earrings will also accentuate this look!!

I got my luggage set ready too! I am highlighting olive & black!

Remember when we used to get dressed up to go to the airport? Well, it's about to get like that again! So, I will probably start looking for an olive Adidas summer set. It's gonna be cute, cute, cute!

When I purchase it, I will post it here! I am going to look for it online now!

This is going to be a wonderful time for all: my daughter, granddaughter, and my three grandsons. My daughter has lined up the activities for us. Being from Chicago, I can see many of my friends as well.  I know we are going to the Magnificent Mile for shopping and dining, to Navy Pier for lunch and a boat ride, and to River North for a dinner cruise.

My personal favorite is Lem's Barbecue. 

Every time I go to Chicago, I go to Lem's Barbecue! If YKYK!

My Micro Loc Journey

💞👑 I did it! I got micro locs! 

Okay, so I have really wanted to get my hair loc'd for a long time. But I didn't have any support from those close to me with my decision to loc my hair. So I just kept putting it off; finally, in February of this year,

I did it! 

I love it! I wish I had not waited so long to do it!  And this is just the beginning.  I can do so many styles, and I don't use chemicals in my hair. 

Anyone still on the fence about getting your hair loc'd? My unsolicited advice is, "Just Do It"

Richmond and Petersburg Virginia Trip

I really missed you guys! I have just retired for the second time.  So I'm trying really hard not to reenter the workforce and get in some travel, relaxation, and time with my family. I have two daughters, one granddaughter, and 3 great-grandsons.  My youngest daughter does not have children, and she recently relocated from Houston, Texas, to Portland, Oregon. My oldest daughter and her daughter and grandchildren live in Carbondale, IL. 

Guess what, guys, I am going to Chicago to meet up with my oldest daughter and her crew for her birthday in September! I can't wait, as we are all originally from Chicago; so it is a homecoming of sorts to all be there together. She is doing our itinerary for the trip. I know we are going to Navy Pier, Sears Tower, the Magnificent Mile, and Chinatown for starters. Garnett's Popcorn is calling my name. 

I would not be honest with you if I said I am a bit wary of this stage in my life. I wonder if I am going to be alright? Will I be able to do things independently? I have many questions at this fork in the road. But it helps me to talk about it and share it with you!
